VAGO Environmental Policy

The Victorian Auditor-General’s Office (VAGO) is a medium-sized organisation with just over 160 staff that conducts financial and performance audits on around 625 state and local government entities. Our audits provide assurance to Parliament on the accountability and performance of the Victorian public sector. Our quality, independent assessments of financial and resource management inform and influence public sector decision-making about environmental issues and thereby improve accountability and performance.

VAGO has adopted a holistic approach to environmental management and is committed to leading by example. We aim to:

  2. minimise the generation of waste
  3. reduce our environmental impact generated through travel and other business activities.

We will achieve this by:

VAGO is committed to improving its environmental performance over time by involving all staff in our green office program and ensuring that monitoring and reporting on our environmental performance is an integral part of our business. All staff have a responsibility to assist in meeting these commitments.

Our commitment to improving our environmental performance contributes to consolidating our reputation for excellence in the public sector.

VAGO will comply with all relevant state and federal government environmental management policy, practices, regulation and legislation.
