Our people

VAGO employs around 185 staff, who plan and conduct audits and prepare reports for tabling in Parliament. Our audit staff are professionally qualified and accredited in a broad range of disciplines, such as accounting, arts, business economics, law, public policy, social and natural sciences, and statistics. Our support staff have expertise in IT, human resources, communications and business administration.

The Executive Leadership Team consists of the Auditor-General, Deputy Auditor-General and Assistant Auditors-General for Financial Audit and Parliamentary Reports and Services.

Andrew Greaves

After serving as Victorian Auditor-General since 2016, in 2023 Andrew was reappointed for another 7-year term. Andrew has over 35 years of experience in public sector external and internal auditing at the federal, state and local government levels. He was the Auditor-General of Queensland from 2011 to 2016. From 2003 to 2011, Andrew held various roles at VAGO, including Assistant Auditor-General, Performance Audit, and Assistant Auditor-General, Financial Audit.

Dave Barry

Dave joined VAGO in 2017. He was previously the Chief Executive Officer of the Alpine Shire Council in north-east Victoria. Dave is responsible for the operations at VAGO, overseeing corporate services and our audit business units (financial audit and parliamentary reports and services). A key focus of this is delivering better and lower-cost outcomes for our clients and the wider Victorian community. Dave also acts as Auditor-General in Andrew Greaves’ absence.

Roberta Skliros

Roberta first joined VAGO in 2006 as a financial auditor, leaving to work with a private sector professional services firm in 2010, before returning to VAGO as a director in 2014. Her background includes public sector audit work and leading VAGO’s technical audit services team. Roberta manages a business unit of around 75 employees and is responsible for VAGO's financial audit activities across a diverse range of portfolios.

Megan Kirchner

Megan joined VAGO in 2023 and brings with her a wealth of experience as a senior executive within government across two states, including as a head of policy for Premier’s departments in both. Megan manages a business unit of around 50 employees and is responsible for VAGO's parliamentary reports and services activities across a diverse range of portfolios.
