Incorporating the Wimmera-Mallee Pipeline and the Goldfields Superpipe

The Wimmera-Mallee Pipeline project is Australia’s largest water saving project. and is jointly funded by the Commonwealth and State Governments and the Grampians Wimmera-Mallee Water Authority (the Authority).

The State Government, in conjunction with Coliban Water (Coliban) and Central Highlands Water (Central Highlands) is also constructing a major water pipeline, called the ‘Goldfields Superpipe,’ to connect Ballarat and Bendigo to the Goulburn River system.

The audit examined the project selection processes, governance arrangements, procurement of goods and services, and the construction of the pipelines.
