This report sets out the results of the audit
of the State of Victoria’s Annual Financial Report (AFR) for
2007–08. The AFR is incorporated into the Financial Report for the
State of Victoria, 2007–08 (the Financial Report), and is a key
part of the accountability of the government to Parliament for the
management and stewardship of the state’s finances.
The report discusses the financial performance and the financial
position of the state and the general government sector (GGS). The
report also highlights some challenges to the state’s long term
ability to sustain operations and respond to changing community
requirements.
