Reports published in 1999

The following reports were tabled in the Victorian State Parliament by the Auditor-General. They contain the findings of performance audits and audits of financial statements, as well as a report on the finances of the state. All reports are prepared under the authority of the Audit Act 1994, and are tabled in Parliament.

Victoria's prison system: Community protection and prisoner welfare 

Tabled 27 May 1999: This Report documents the results of a wide-ranging but difficult audit dealing with the State’s prison system. The audit encompassed a period of major reform following the Government’s action in 1994 to provide for participation by the private sector in the construction, operation and management of 3 new prisons. Adobe PDF (1.4mb pdf)
