Reports published in 2001

The following reports were tabled in the Victorian State Parliament by the Auditor-General. They contain the findings of performance audits and audits of financial statements, as well as a report on the finances of the state. All reports are prepared under the authority of the Audit Act 1994, and are tabled in Parliament.

Teacher workforce planning

Tabled 21 November 2001: The overall objective of this audit was to determine whether effective and efficient arrangements were in place for planning and managing the supply and demand for government primary and secondary school teachers.   (775kb pdf )

 

Report on Public Sector Agencies - Results of 30 June 2001 financial statement audits

Tabled 27 November 2001: This report sets out the results of financial statement audits conducted on public sector agencies pertaining to the financial year ending 30 June 2001, and the results of a number of special reviews undertaken up to the date of preparation of this report: HIH Insurance Group collapse – Cost and impact on Victorian public sector agencies, Outcomes of IT audits of government departments and other agencies ,Financial viability of hospitals, Housing rental arrears, Financial viability of Tourism Victoria, City of Greater Geelong’s involvement with the Geelong Business and Trade Centre, Sale of Harding Park, Geelong.   (870kb pdf )

 

Report of the Auditor-General on the Finances of the State of Victoria, 2000-01

Managing Victoria's growing salinity problem

Tabled 13 June 2001: The management of salinity is a long-term undertaking and Victoria is now one third of the way into the 30-year Salinity Management Program established in 1988. The audit highlights the difficulties and challenges faced by the Government and rural communities in effectively managing the salinity problem.  (1.4mb pdf)
