The following reports were tabled in the Victorian State
Parliament by the Auditor-General. They contain the findings of
performance audits and audits of financial statements, as well as a
report on the finances of the state. All reports are prepared under
the authority of the
Audit Act 1994, and are tabled in Parliament.

health services for people in crisis
Tabled 17 October 2002: Mental disorders
are a leading cause of disability in the community, reducing an
individual’s sense of wellbeing, and placing stress on family and
social relationships and the wider community. This report provides
a number of suggestions to the Department of Human Services, Area
Mental Health Services and the Mental Health Review Board that can
improve the services provided to people with a mental illness and

Tabled 18 April 2002: The combination of
the level of public interest, the significance of the activities of
public universities, and the magnitude of the costs and benefits
involved led to my decision to examine the impact of international
student programs in Victorian universities, and to provide
Parliament and the community with an independent assessment of this
activity. I trust this report will facilitate informed debate on
this topical issue and lead to improved decision-making by all
those associated with this important aspect of our community
