This is VAGO's second report examining the extent to which public sector agencies respond to and monitor performance audit recommendations.

This report comments on the outcomes of the 2014–15 financial report and performance statement audits of the local government sector.

The report sets out the results of the audit of the State of Victoria’s Annual Financial Report for 2014-15 and provides commentary on the financial outcomes and position achieved by the State and the general government sector.

Clear financial audit opinions were issued for the 87 public hospitals and their 19 controlled entities for the year ending 30 June 2015. This means that Parliament and the public can have confidence in the financial statements of these entities.

This audit examined how effectively the Department of Education and Training (DET) plans to achieve its objectives. This involved assessing DET's strategic planning, and the operational plans and work plan actions that support this.

The objective of this audit was to examine strategies for delivering services online via digital devices, how these strategies were being implemented, and the extent to which services were already being provided.

This report builds on VAGO's previous inaugural Information and Communications Technology Controls Report 2013–14 and aims to provide additional insight and increased visibility of IT related audit findings. The report is intended to provide decision-makers with relevant information to help them address IT issues and improve processes and controls.

The objective of this audit was to assess the effectiveness, efficiency and economy of the Regional Growth Fund. This included assessing the achievement of the intended outcomes and whether the lessons learned from the Regional Growth Fund have been applied to the planning and implementation of the Regional Jobs Infrastructure Fund.

This audit examined the extent to which deficiencies in the Advanced Metering Infrastructure program have been addressed and whether benefits for consumers are being realised.

The intent of this audit is to apprise policy makers so they can make decisions that balance economic benefits with environmental and social impacts, and give due regard to the strengths and weaknesses of our current regulatory regime. It presents objective findings and recommendations to inform the final decision of government so that it can be made in the best interests of the Victorian community rather than individual stakeholders.

This audit assessed the effectiveness of Victorian biosecurity practices that relate to livestock disease management and the associated risks to primary production, animal welfare and human health. It focused on exotic livestock diseases, as well as other emergency animal diseases, such as anthrax.

The audit assessed whether the High Value High Risk (HVHR) process has been effectively applied to two unsolicited proposals—the $1.3 billion CityLink Tulla Widening project and the $2.5 billion Cranbourne Pakenham Rail Corridor project (Cranbourne-Pakenham).
